This is my first blog – ever. I enjoy writing and sharing thoughts and ideas and I am writing this for those who enjoy the same thing. I titled this article, “Catching Waves” because it seemed to sum up my life and I wanted you to get to know me. I can’t swim very well, but here I am, in this big, deep ocean trying to stay afloat. There are days when I feel like I am drowning, days when I am treading water and then there are those days when I catch the perfect wave and am able to glide through some of the roughness and smile. Yes, I know my joy will be short-lived, but for that moment, just before I inevitably wipe out, I am feeling good and am having a good time. So, I ask you, in those moments when you catch a wave, what do you do? Do you take in the view? Grab your friends/family and have them join in? Or do you stop yourself and try to avoid getting hurt? I have to admit, I probably have done all three of these things at some point in my life and I really don’t believe that any of them were horrible decisions. I think our choices are made based on where we are emotionally and physically in our lives and what the situation is. Right now, I think I am going to ride this wave of exploring writing and if I fail or if you my friends want to join me, then let’s just see how far this wave will take us. Surf’s up!
